Job description, responsibilities and duties
IKEA Industry, Division Purchase is looking for a
Business Developer to further develop the IKEA supplier base in Slovakia & Hungary for Category Foils, Edges, Honeycombs and Other Packaging Materials.
Location: Malacky, Trnava (Slovakia) or Sopron (Hungary)

The main scope of this positions includes:
•Stakeholder management – create and maintain constructive relationship with production sites through the appropriate management of their expectations and agreed objectives
•Leading the strategic purchasing agenda for the production sites and supplier within his/her area of responsibility, by involving and engaging the competence needed such as manufacturing, logistics, quality and sustainability
•Maintaining professional long-term supplier relations
•Supporting the Product Development Process
•Driving the supplier development process to secure long term competitive capacities and material/components sourced in required quality and under good conditions
•Securing compliance with purchase process
The position requires both national and international travel.

•Have extensive experience with sourcing development activities.
•Have knowledge of purchase strategy tool and value chain principles
•Strong focus on stakeholder management
•Can work with remote management set-up

•Can communicate (written and verbally) in English
•Have good presentation and negotiation skills
•Have high self-drive and at the same time ability to work in a team.

IKEA was originally formed as a result of the political and economic upheaval that changed the face of Eastern Europe forever and began with the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

With these developments, IKEA could not be sure it would be able to continue getting its important share of furniture from the affected region. To safeguard itself against the loss of vital suppliers, IKEA formed Swedwood as a subsidiary on April 1, 1991 and then IKEA Industry as a subsidiary on December 1, 2013. The initial task of the new company was to participate, when necessary, in the privatisation of IKEA suppliers.

Today IKEA Industry has evolved into an IKEA supplier with advanced production facilities of its own, mainly in Eastern Europe. The road from 1991 to the present day is marked primarily by the building, acquisition and running of various plants in the region. An ongoing challenge for IKEA Industry is to reduce costs, increase efficiency and gather production know-how to benefit IKEA’s customers.
