Data Architect

As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Participating in engagements meetings with clients to ascertain business requirements and recommend best practice BI/DWH solution based on client needs.
- Lead technical requirements and design gathering sessions and writing technical requirements and design documents.
- Translates Client requirements into technical requirements and recommends a business intelligence, data warehousing or analytics applications that run on multiple platforms & are composed of multiple software packages/tools.
- Directs work of project team members by assigning duties, setting deadlines, monitoring progress and performing applicable follow up.
- Owning the overall design of the technical application (including Solution Architecture, Dimensional Model, etc.) by mapping business requirements to system/technical requirements.
- Creating best of breed end-to-end solutions leveraging Cloud and/or traditional data platform offerings
- Analyzes/identifies areas of risk and develops plans to minimize.
- Working collaboratively with the Technical Lead and development team in writing articulate technical specs.
- Engages in practice development initiatives and frequently runs knowledge storms.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Master’s Degree in Computer Science ideal.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a consulting capacity, conducting project implementations as part of a successful team.
- Full lifecycle implementation of the technical components of a business intelligence solution.
- Expertise in a range of technical areas including Business Intelligence (BI) tool selection, data architecture, database administration, ETL (extract, transform and load), reporting and integration, Data Warehousing, Decision Support Systems, Strategy Development, Logical and Physical Data Modeling, Metadata Management, Extract Transform and Load (ETL) and Dimensional Modeling.
Experienced with Cloud native platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google, IBM Cloud or Cloud Native data platforms like Snowflake.
