Back-up administrator – Brno, Czech Republic

As a Backup administrator you will have a great opportunity to configure, operate and troubleshoot enterprise storage environments with extend to the platform and applications such as a Linux, Spectrum Protect, VMware.
You will perform software installation and its maintenance and upgrades. One of the key tasks is to keep the environment documentation accurate and up-to-date to enable fast and smooth team performance and to comply with the security and operational standards and procedures.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• basic backup job management – check, modify schedule, housekeeping scripts
• basic datacenter management – HW decommission / inventory process, cabling requests
• basic storage management – NetApp NFS adjustments, Dell EMC monitoring, VMAX health checks
• basic VMware management – virtual machine start/stop/restart, snapshot creation, monitoring
• mail queue management – dispatching, notifications (to specialist or on call)
• ticket management – dispatching, notifications (to specialist or on call)
• change management – dispatching, notifications (to specialist or on call)
• communication with 2nd level mainly during out of office hours

What you need to be successful:

• 1+ years of overall IT systems administration experience
• Awareness of data backup solutions
• Linux administrators skills - basic
• Awareness of SAN Storage systems
• Availability to work during out-of-office hours
