Job description, responsibilities and duties

Shared Service Centre in Kosice is looking for experienced General Ledger Accountant. If you want to be a part of an international team, we have a position exactly for you.

As a Senior General Ledger Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Support the delivery of general accounting and intercompany services in accordance with SLAs.
- Resolve less complex issues as and when necessary while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures in the drive for exceptional customer service, operational excellence and compliance.
- Support the General Accounting & Intercompany team in the prompt and accurate recording of financial transactions (e.g. ledger entries, journal postings, etc.) and recording of intercompany (e.g. creation and processing of intercompany invoices, reconciling intercompany accounts, etc.) in line with relevant requirements, policies and procedures.
- Reconcile the relevant systems and journals, and ensure that updates are made accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support preparation of documents and adjustments for monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
- Support customers in having a good understanding of the general ledger and group reporting pertaining to the respective parties.
- Solve disputes through monitoring, intervening and escalating issues according to group policies and ensuring all disputes are resolved in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the appropriate billing teams to ensure all disputes are minimised by addressing root causes of disputes raised.
- Conduct intercompany confirmations and monthly/quarterly reconciliations of Intercompany accounts and interface systems to ensure integrity and accuracy, and conduct reconciliation of relevant general ledger accounts when necessary.

Language skills

English - Intermediate (B1)

Administrative and economic skills

Double-entry bookkeeping - advanced

Computer skills - user

SAP - basic
Microsoft Excel - advanced

Required experience


Personality requirements and skills

- 1 years of experience in B2R processes (General ledger, Taxes, Fixed Assets, Management accounting, month end close)
- IFRS experience in multinational companies is an asset
- Progressive experience in Shared Service Center is an asset
- Advanced English (min. B1 level), another language is an asset
- Proficient in SAP FI module is an asset
- Proficient in using MS Office
- Knowledge of IFRS standards is required
- Communication skills and customer orientation
- Ability to focus on details and to deal sensitively with confidential material
