How will you make an impact?
This position offers a unique opportunity at Thermo Fisher Scientific to contribute to a program that intends to provide foundational data platform services at scale across our business. For this, we are looking for a product owner that understands life sciences and tech, and is also interested in product management responsibilities.
You will be part of our global technology organization, working across various groups in different countries and be responsible to ensure that the right requirements are being conveyed to the scrum teams, build trusting relationships across our product / engineering / test teams, and work closely with product management to ensure timely delivery of our platform services. In addition, you will be required to work with our vertical marketing and business teams to understand and ruthlessly prioritize requirements in limited areas in order to align with our business, customer, and integration product prioritizations.
What will you do?
- Work with product managers to tune prioritizations based on business, customer, and engineering priorities
- Author clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria
- Drive the necessary ritual activities for each sprint iteration
- Work with engineering to ensure that the correct solutions are being built
- Work with test teams to ensure understanding of the core and extended use cases
- Work with vertical marketing, product management, and business stakeholders to define requirements and propose roadmap and requirement prioritization, in conjunction with the Sr Manager, Product Management of this program.
How will you get here?
- Master's degree or combination of relevant education and experience in the life sciences field
- Tech certification(s) or prior software engineering experience a huge plus
- Chromatography or mass spectrometry experience in academia or industrial lab
- Prior experience with agile software development and leading a scrum team
- Ability to write concise and clear user story and acceptance criteria, and convey this to the product team
- Demonstrated ability and integrity to ensure that the correct solution is being built every iteration
- Demonstrated ability to put oneself in outside their comfort zone to fill in complex knowledge gaps
- Ability to understand technical issues and escalate to stakeholders with limited technical backgrounds
- Excellent writing and oratory communication skills
- Excellent team player and team builder
Preferred qualifications:
- Enterprise software experienced preferred, but not required
- Analytics, data management, or security systems experience highly desired
- Experience in UX design or general UX / user centered design processes

- Scrum, Agile , Product Management, Life Sciences, Cloud Technologies, Software Scaling
