Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our customer is expanding its presence in Europe with a new manufacturing facility in Žilina, Slovakia. To support their growth, we are exclusively searching for the new Production & Logistics Manager who will lead all production activities and oversee logistics, planning, and material flow at the Slovak plant. This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of daily operations, drive efficiency, build local processes, and help scale the business from the ground up. The role is ideal for a hands-on, structured leader with a deep understanding of automotive production and logistics flows.

Production Management

  • Lead and manage daily production operations to ensure output, quality, and safety targets are met.
  • Oversee production teams and shift leaders; ensure optimal staffing and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cycle times, and machine utilization.
  • Monitor KPIs (OEE, scrap rate, downtime) and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support SOP and ramp-up activities in line with global standards.

Logistics & Material Flow

  • Ensure timely and accurate inbound receipt of raw materials and components.
  • Manage warehousing, material handling, and in-plant logistics.
  • Optimize layout and flow of goods across production and storage areas.
  • Oversee outbound logistics and ensure on-time delivery to customers.

Production Planning & Control

  • Create and manage production schedules based on customer forecasts and capacity.
  • Monitor material availability and production alignment to avoid shortages or excess.
  • Work with procurement and global teams to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
  • Report on production status, issues, and risks to internal stakeholders.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a growing local team of operators and logistics staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and performance.

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

  • 5+ years experience in production and/or logistics management within a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, warehouse operations, and material flow.
  • Experience with ERP systems and production tracking tools.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English and Slovak language.
