Job description, responsibilities and duties:
o Administration and maintenance of MS SQL server databases (installations, upgrades, administration of databases/users/maintenance plans, capacity planning, configuration, troubleshooting),
o Backup/restore of databases,
o Database maintenance – datafile consistency/database health checks,
o MS SQL server patching,
o MS SQL server HA features – configuring and maintenance (log shipping, replications/mirroring),
o Server health, performance and DB monitoring (understanding SQL Server Schedulers, Workers and Tasks),
o Understanding SQL services (Reporting, Integration, Analyses, Broker, SharePoint),
o Writing scripts T-SQL, PowerShell,
o Security administration (logins, server roles, credentials, audits, data encryption),
o Supporting application teams ,
o Documentation maintenance ,
o Deployments of application packages (MS SQL).
