Job description, responsibilities and duties

Glocco is built as a fully remote workplace. Thanks to our suite of Cloud tools, you will be working from your dedicated HOME office using the Company laptop and mobile phone you will receive.

The Project Manager:

- Manages localization projects from initiation to completion, collaborating closely with clients, language specialists, localization engineers, terminologists, product management, and development teams, internal business partners, external vendors, and other departments to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.

- Develops and oversees localization project budgets, conducts cost tracking analysis, ensures the timely issuance of purchase orders and invoices, approves work reports and monitors financial performance to maintain profitability and cost-efficiency.

- Proficiently processes project files using one or more major Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) and Quality Assurance (QA) tools, to streamline translation workflows, ensure consistency across translations, and maintain high-quality deliverables. This includes importing and exporting files, generating translation memories, leveraging terminology databases, and conducting thorough QA checks to identify and resolve any linguistic or technical issues before project completion.

- Proactively analyzes potential risks associated with localization projects and devises effective mitigation strategies to address identified risks, minimizing potential negative impacts on project timelines and quality.

- Resolves localization issues or disagreements, whether related to the system or product, by identifying the root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions to prevent future occurrences.

- Ensures timely and high-quality deliverables, while maintaining a professional and responsive demeanor towards both internal and external clients, prioritizing client satisfaction and smooth project management.

- Leads and facilitates project/client/business partner meetings and conference calls, including project kick-off meetings, weekly updates, ad-hoc issue resolution sessions, and post-mortem evaluations. Ensures proper documentation of meeting minutes and follows up on the completion of agreed-upon action items.

- Continually expands knowledge and expertise in localization trends and industry developments, staying up-to-date by actively participating in training opportunities, attending relevant workshops, and engaging with professional networks.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Personality requirements and skills

- Solid in-depth knowledge of internationalization and localization
- Minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to project management (preferably in the localization industry)
- Strong technical skills related to CAT tools and QA tools
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- Good presentation/communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Proven abilities in project planning, resource and risk management
- Problem-solving capabilities
- Quality and detail-oriented
- Resourceful and pro-active
- Ability to work independently, come up with creative solutions and meet deadlines under pressure
- Solid understanding of database concepts and data manipulation
