Test Engineer (Public Safety)

We are looking for a talented Test Engineer; a team player who can work self-reliantly and independently; who likes to work closely with software developers to iron out any bugs in the product, and improve the quality of the finished product. Your Next Project – Public Safety
With the FREQUENTIS expertise in safety critical communication systems as background, Public Safety aligns this insight with the individual requirements of our customers. As communication technology evolves towards more open standards and platforms, we are leading the way through active participation to define and implement these standards in organisations such as EENA, NENA, APCO and TCAA. As our customers evolve to IP-based technologies for emergency call taking (NG112/NG911) and broadband radio communication (LTE), Public Safety provides innovative solutions aimed at dissolving physical borders that currently define a control centre. The ability to manage emergency situations from any mobile device or location and the availability of integrated operator positions are at the core of these topics.

Your Main Tasks
• Perform functional and non-functional testing of software using manual testing techniques
• Write and execute basic test scripts
• Work with various testing tools, including simulators, measuring devices, diagnostic tools, etc.
• Write bug reports, present findings to software development / business user teams / system engineers
• Develop and support the development of test plans, test cycles and test statistics
• Write the test preparation and test results documentation
• Review other testing-related documentation
• Develop and maintain test data
• Cooperate with requirements engineers, software developers and system engineers

Required Experience and Knowledge
• 2 years of practical experience in software testing and/or software development
• Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Jama software is an advantage
• Microsoft Office, Computer literacy
• Proficiency in written and spoken English

Required Abilities
• Very good organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to travel to Vienna occasionally
