Job description, responsibilities and duties

Are you ready to take ownership of reliability, safety, and performance in a fast‑paced chemical production environment? We’re looking for a Maintenance Engineer who will drive preventive and predictive maintenance excellence while ensuring optimal spare parts management across the plant.
In this key role, you will shape maintenance strategies, analyze performance data, collaborate across departments, and lead improvement initiatives that directly impact equipment reliability and plant efficiency. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, optimizing processes, and working in a multinational environment, this role is for you.

What You Will Do
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Define critical equipment and ensure availability of required spare parts.
  • Manage spare parts stock levels, supplier relationships, and cost‑optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of maintenance activities and spare parts usage in the ERP/CMMS system.
  • Perform regular inventory checks and maintain alignment between physical stock and system data.
  • Analyze maintenance records to improve MTBF, MTTR, safety, and overall equipment performance.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability investigations.
  • Lead or participate in improvement projects focused on equipment upgrades, standardization, and reliability.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement on the shopfloor.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, etc.).
  • Prepare and present reports, KPIs, and project updates to management.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to evaluate suppliers and ensure timely availability of compliant spare parts.
  • Execute additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Candidates with education suit the position

University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering

Language skills

Slovak - Advanced (C1) and English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Microsoft Office - Advanced

Experience in the position/sector

industrial maintenance (chemical, process, or manufacturing preferred)

Personality requirements and skills

  • Experience with CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, failure trends).
  • Ability to read technical drawings, datasheets, and equipment manuals.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; working knowledge of AutoCAD and SAP.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, improvement‑oriented mindset.
