ROLE INTRODUCTION
Our 6 months Internship programme offers talented University students an opportunity to go beyond the classroom to develop professional skills and gain meaningful hands on experience working as part of a global team with professionals across the enterprise. Additionally, interns will participate in scheduled activities throughout the summer, including sessions with Senior Leaders & and other programme members, site tours and other social events.

START DATE: 1st July 2024
END DATE: 6 months after the start date
WORKING HOURS: 20 hours/week
LOCATION: Bratislava, Slovakia
SALARY: Starting from 6-10€/hour


WHAT WILL YOU DO
Internship roles will be available in the following department areas:

• APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT in Java – The project is called Data provisioning and it’s a one shop solution for our clients for whom we generate and distribute statements, invoices, reports etc.

You’ll be responsible for writing microservices in Java/Spring Boot, JUnits, using Git as code versioning tool. But you will be also responsible for its quality. To ensure quality we have several automated tools like SonarQube, Fortify, WebInspect incorporated in our CI/CD pipelines.

• APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT in Java – The project is called BAM – Boarding and Maintenance and it helps all customers, to take their business to the starting position quickly, smoothly and fully functional also in connected external systems.

You will be responsible to writing API services and connections in Java/Spring Boot, JUnits or even Quarkus/GraalVM with assistance of Git. You should be focused to bring high reliable, secure and resistant applications, working not only on standard servers also on new cloud infrastructure. Many automated tools, like Fortify, Sonatype and our CI/CD will help you on the way.

• JAVA DEVELOPMENT IN DEVOPS ENVIRONMENT – The project is an application showcasing the features of our internal Platform used by development teams across Fiserv EMEA. The purpose is to integrate the app with various other services (internal or cloud-based like databases, queuing, apis and observability tools) to show best in class patterns.

You will be responsible for writing and deploying the microservices using the latest modern technologies such as Java 21, Spring Boot, Quarkus, and simple UI in Angular. It uses cloud-native architecture and is dockerized via Gitlab pipelines using ArgoCD for CD into environments

• WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT in VueJS - You will work on an EMEA merchant portal project which is a web portal solution where our clients can access their details about cards, terminals, statements and a lot more.
The project is based on modern technologies with VueJS on front end and REST API on backend.

You’ll be working on user interface of a web application – creating reusable components and modules for the web portal in VueJS – a JavaScript framework for single page application development. You’ll learn how to write and test components with JEST and Storybook.


• AI INTEGRATION DEVELOPER - This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about AI technology and its practical applications in a business environment.
Your role will be to utilize advanced tools provided by leading organizations (MS suite, cloud services, etc.) and building an internal AI solutions.

Your responsibilities will include researching and developing new ways to apply AI in various aspects of our employees' work, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
Utilizing Azure OpenAI, Microsoft apps/services and combining them with automation tools (Gitlab, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes...) to create applications mainly based on Python and React that can add value to our business processes.
Collaborating with different departments to understand their needs and how AI can be integrated into their daily operations.


OUR INTERVIEW PROCESS
Stage 1 – If you meet the job requirements, you can expect a short 10 minutes screening call with our recruiter.

Stage 2 – Meet with the Hiring manager for a short 30-60 minute long (video-conference) interview.

Stage 3 – Optionally, you might be asked to complete a case study or test.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

! The students must be in their penultimate year of study. Completing the Masters / Engineers degree in 2025 or completing their Bachelors degree in 2025 and not planning to progress to Master/Engineer !

• Advanced knowledge of spoken and written English.
• We expect basic overview and skills in the area you're applying for.
• Must have advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge and have a technical aptitude to learn new applications quickly.
• Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines.
• Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and oral communications skills.
• Optionally, we would prefer students with grade average better than 1.5 (B).
