Job description, responsibilities and duties
What will you do:
Direct and oversee the software engineering function in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications/operating systems according to business needs. Establish policies and procedures that produce high-quality software product and service. Manage a department on the site within a global Engineering organization. Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the local department and develop budgets/policies/procedures to support the department. You will report to Worldwide Engineering Vice President.
What will you be in charge of:
● Lead R&D team ( Software engineers, Quality Engineers, Technical writers) to achieve company goals
● Hire top talent within site R&D team including on-boarding / career growth / performance and wellbeing
management
● Foster R&D staff knowledge and talent development (education, trainings, conferences, presentation skills, ...)
● Set-up R&D process, delivery pipeline and continuously work to improve them
● Combined Quality and speed of delivery - address roadblocks and enable teams
● Together with SM (Scrum Master) role coordinate cooperation with remote teams
● Supervise the DoD (Definition of Done) and DoR (Definition of Ready) processes/rules
● Regularly report to company top management
What is on daily basis:
● Java/Scala, Python, C++, JavaScript (React.js), ...
● Containers (Docker), Orchestration (Kubernetes), Cloud Foundry
● Continuous integration pipeline (Bamboo, Stash, Bitbucket, Jira)
● IP telephony, Data analytics
