Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a flexible, experienced Business Consultant, who will work on a Projects for Exceedra’s (foreign) customers that need advice and help on how to use the Retail Execution solution to meet business requirements and deliver business value to best effect.
The applicant needs to be able to understand and properly document such customer business requirements, be well-versed in the RE solution and hence needs strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills when working with the customer representatives. The focus of the Business Consultant is the understanding, definition and refinement of business processes which underpin the RE Solution functionality.
The Business Consultant is the link between key customer/Market users and RE Product owners, documenting process steps, business goals and outcomes, user enquiries, appropriate use of Solution settings, defining and documenting new features as well as ways of working. They own the analysis of business practices and recommend improvements pending the client's validation within a Project’s implementation phase.
The Business Consultant role reports to the Project Manager.
With Exceedra’s RE solution being a Retail/CPG environment tool, Business Consultants are specialists in Retail Execution business flow and CPG industry business requirements and needs and are able to translate them into functional documents.
Business Consultants should be willing and be ready to travel internationally on an occasional basis as required by customer Projects.

• Understand and document business requirements.
• Regularly communicate with customer representatives.
• Perform and document business function GAP analysis during early phases of the Project.
• Propose solutions to identified issues and validate such solutions with the Product Development team.
• Support Pre-Sales initiatives of Exceedra alongside Sales team members, specifically in Statement of Work (SoW) preparation and validation;
• Perform acceptance and sign-off of Product improvements;
• Document new/modified/removed Product process improvements;
• Document change requests and coordinate detailed discussions between customers and Product teams;
• Create Product presentations and training materials – add business WIKI entries for customers;
• Perform user training as required;
• Assist customers during important Project stages (Kick-Off, Blueprinting, Pre-Go-Live, Hypercare, Post-Go-Live)
• Work on tasks assigned by Project Managers and report time accurately using internal time-recording systems;
• Work collaboratively in international and multi-cultural teams.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

• Understand the methodology of IT software business, ideally the specifics of FMCG/CPG processes;
• Analytical thinking in order to understand business requirements and formulate/document them clearly;
• An ability to proactively advise on and discuss business requirements with customers and internal teams;
• Concise and clear written and verbal English language skills;
• University education preferred but not essential (Retail and/or CPG industry specialization is an advantage);
• Experience with preparing high-level Functional process specifications;
• The ability to work independently on assigned tasks but also as part of a globally-dispersed team when consulting with colleagues and different internal functions;
• An understanding of Software development/Implementation methodologies and practices is preferable - PMI, SCRUM, PRINCE, Agile practices, etc.;
• Ability to manage time effectively, responding to customers in a judicious and appropriate fashion.
