We are creating midPoint, the world’s leading open-source identity governance and administration (IGA) platform. Join our team as Corporate Counsel at Evolveum and you will be a key member of our legal team, providing hands-on legal support across our international business operations. You will work closely with our business development, sales, and compliance teams, with significant responsibility and autonomy from day one. This role is ideal for a lawyer with a solid foundation in commercial, intellectual property, and IT law who is eager to work in a dynamic, technology-driven environment and wants to make a real impact in a growing global company.

Serve as the primary legal support for our sales and business development teams, assisting with the negotiation, review, and preparation of commercial contracts with our partners and customers.
Advise on intellectual property matters specific to open-source software, including compliance with open-source licenses, software IP ownership, and protection of Evolveum’s trademarks and brand.
Deliver day-to-day legal support to internal teams across the organization, including business development, sales, product, compliance and operations, helping them navigate legal questions efficiently and pragmatically.
Provide legal support on corporate matters and contribute to the continuous improvement of Evolveum’s legal processes and documentation standards.
Maintain and develop standard contract templates, legal playbooks, and internal legal documentation to support the business development and partner teams.
Provide legal support on employment law matters, including employment contracts, internal policies, and HR-related legal questions arising in the context of a remote-first, internationally operating team.
Support the resolution of contractual disputes and other legal matters as they arise.

Osobnostné predpoklady a zručnosti
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in commercial law, preferably gained in an international law firm or in the in-house legal team of a technology company. Experience working with international partners or customers is a strong advantage.
Education: University degree in Law — Mgr., JUDr., or LLM. Specialization in commercial, IP, or IT law is a strong advantage.
Employment law: Basic knowledge of employment law and HR-related legal matters. Experience advising on employment contracts, internal policies, and workforce-related questions in an international environment is an advantage.
Intellectual property and IT law: Working knowledge of intellectual property law, including software licensing and open-source licensing models. Given Evolveum’s open-source business model, familiarity with open-source licenses such as Apache or EUPL is a strong advantage.
Contract negotiation: Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in an international context, ideally including partner agreements, subscription agreements, or professional services agreements. Comfort with leading negotiations independently.
Personal qualities: Proactive, precise, and highly autonomous. You are comfortable managing multiple matters simultaneously, supporting fast-moving business teams, and delivering practical, business-oriented legal advice without getting lost in theory. A passion for technology and willingness to understand the details of how things work.
