Job description, responsibilities and duties

- Design and develop various software components and their integration into the existing software architecture
- Analysis of requirements, creation of state of the art application architecture and solutions within our own software stack as well as integration of third party applications
- Implementation together with an agile team in different stages of the software development life cycle – architecture, implementation, testing and integration, up to the rollout and maintenance

Personality requirements and skills

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or several years of equivalent work experience
• Several years of experience in object oriented software development (Java, Java EE)
• Very good knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, JUnit, Smart GWT, JPA as well as other common frameworks in the context of Java, Web Services and XML
• Good skills in SQL and practical experience in Oracle and its development tools
• Experience with application containers Tomcat and Weblogic
• Experience with agile development and project management methods is required
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Self-motivated and able to think independently
• Great agile team player

Must Frontend skills:

- Implementing HTML + CSS based on wireframes/design
- web template frameworks
- mobile web and responsive design
- JavaScript

Must Backend skills:

- Ruby
- Rails
- REST APIs and integrating with existing systems
- regular expressions, input validation, internationalization
- Java

Must senior skills:

- security and scalability of web application
- experience with change management( manage advanced branching and merging in distributed version control systems, releases and release packaging)
- distributed version control (e.g. mercurial or git)
- continuous Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)
- experience with Java application servers (e.g. Tomcat)

Nice to have:

- Spring mvc
- Spring web flow
- Freemarker
- XML, XML Schema, JAXB
- JPA/Hibernate
