Job description, responsibilities and duties

EAI - European Alliance for Innovation is a non-profit organization and a professional community established in cooperation with the European Commission to empower the global research and innovation, and to promote cooperation between European and International ICT communities.
EAI is now looking for a System Administrator, part-time or full time, for the office in Bratislava, Slovakia. This role may be a starting point in your career, giving you the possibility of full time job and progression to more senior roles within the organization.

Information about the position

Successful applicant will be responsible for deployment/configuration, operation, and maintenance/backup of EAI software systems and IT infrastructure.

Job responsibilities and duties:
- system administration of linux based virtual machines
- maintenance and development of Docker based containers and CI/CD solutions
- deployment and configuration management of several in-house developed software solutions

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University student
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

Required Technical Skills:

- Linux system administration and shell scripting (preferably Debian based distros)
- Docker and related containerization and CI/CD technologies
- cloud based solutions and virtual server technologies (DigitalOcean)
- web servers and proxies (Apache and Nginx) configuration and management
- RDBMS administration (preferably PostgreSQL and MySQL)
- RabbitMQ message broker configuration
- distributed version control systems such as Git

Other skills:
- autonomous thinking and problem solving skills
- ability to work in team
