Position Overview
The Associate will work as part of the StepStone Portfolio Analytics & Reporting (SPAR) team and is expected to perform Fundamental Core Responsibilities described below. The Associate will work closely with Client Lead, Accounting, and Investor Relations to support client deliverables and provide analytical support to the Firm’s Investment team. Associates will participate in Expanded Scope Opportunities on a progressive basis as they maintain accurate, reliable, and consistent results across their Fundamental Core responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as an Assigned Client Back‐Up, responsible for the entire lifecycle of assigned clients’ service and reporting needs. Provides daily fulfillment and coordination of client service, including scheduled and ad hoc client requests.
- Coordinates with the SPAR Client Lead to manage and co‐execute on all client requests. Works with SPAR Client Lead to ensure continuity and minimize interruption. Anticipates client needs and proactively addresses deliverables. Contributes towards strategic planning for assigned clients.

- Continuously ensure data quality for the respective client portfolios. Pro-Active monitors and raises issues.
- The Associate is expected to accumulate more knowledge, skills, and abilities and demonstrate a willingness to act with an “ownership” mindset. As the department gains confidence in the Associate’s ability to apply this “ownership” mindset more broadly, the Associate may be given Client Servicing opportunities. Assigned Client Lead roles require continuous, top‐level professionalism across the client relationship lifecycle: Client service, analysis, and internal/external communication. High‐performing Associates are expected to serve as Client Leads.
- Leads research and analysis for underlying fund amendments or extensions
- Collaborates with other client teams to identify and improve best practices
- Helps create and communicate training elements to develop Analysts/Senior Analysts on the skills required to progress to the Associate level
- Contributes to the overall success of SPAR private markets data universe
- Develops cumulative Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to successfully complete all Fundamental Core responsibilities and qualify for Expanded Scope Opportunities
