Technical Education Designer

ESET Instructional Designers are responsible for the design, development, delivery, management and maintenance of learning content. Instructional Designers will use strong interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video and audio to communicate and educate our partners, employees, customers, and other stakeholders. In addition to this an Instructional Designer will gain specialized skills in educational technology tools and will utilize their expertise to lead design and development on educational programs for the organization.

What does this role entail:

GOALS and OBJECTIVES:

• Provide relevant, accurate and impactful instruction in a timely manner.
• Develop ideas that captivate the learner’s attention in order to facilitate the learning process and make their learning experience as effective, pleasurable, and efficient as possible.
• Act as a role-model for other Instructional Designers.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete needs assessment and analysis of current behavior and desired behavior to determine the most appropriate learning design and content and develop targeted learning programs to close these skill gaps.
• Outline the concept for a course or curriculum, defining the course medium, content delivery methods, assessments, accompanying materials, and complementary learning approaches.
• Quickly synthesize and write course content based on input from subject matter experts, written material, previous training courses, interviews, etc.
• Use eLearning authoring tools to draft screen layouts, graphics and interactions appropriate to the content.
• Write the audio script for eLearning coursework and work with subject matter expert and voice talent to ensure proper pronunciation and style.
• Record temporary or final voice over for eLearning coursework draft or final release.
• Design quizzes and meaningful course interactions to increase learning and retention.
• Work with subject matter experts and course sponsors to collect feedback and integrate it into the next course draft.
• Analyze feedback to measure behavioral change and make adjustments and improvements to programs based on this feedback
• Proof course at multiple stages of development and make or document required changes.
• Work with department team leads and managers to identify trending and individual issues that need addressing in support of identified processes, procedures.
• Use established Project Management Methodology to effectively and efficiently execute and complete all assigned projects
• Define project schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• When necessary lead instructional design efforts on specific projects where multiple designers are involved.
• Develop and communicate course design processes to other Instructional Designers across the organization.
• Evaluate existing training programs and methodologies to implement and transform content for increased proficiency.
