Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our Global Controlling Department is looking for a skilled Senior Controller (focus on segment and sales area) to operate in the international environment. We are looking for a confident self-starter with good attention to detail, strong analytical skills and hands on approach.

Job responsibilities:

- Develop a thorough understanding of the business and market. Provide business partner/decision support to Sales, Segment and Product teams.
- Work proactively and collaboratively with business unit functional leaders to solve problems and advise on how business actions may affect the financials.
- Analysis of sales data to reveal trends and relationships, initiating corrective actions.
- Analysis and assembling of the proposed sales plan/budget.
- Participation on ESET Business cases (evaluation of the benefits, costs and risks of a new projects, ROI calculation).
- Segment P&L & profitability analyses.
- Performing month end close activities.
- Preparation of reports for management/the Group.
- Establishing, monitoring, enforcing and improving policies and procedures. ---Recognizing opportunities for improvements.
- Providing support to other departments in the company/ the Group.

Requirements for the employee

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- A confident self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic international environment
- University degree or diploma in Finance and Accounting
- Fluency in English is a must (very good level of written and spoken English)
- 3-5 years of experience in controlling/reporting - experience in a large international company preferred
- Computer literate with excellent Excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles
- Strong sense of responsibility and organization of work
- Excellent time management
- Strong attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making, and a hands on approach
- The ability to work to tight deadlines
- Multitasking skills
- Good understanding of business and financial issues
- Strong analytical, numerical skills

Brief description of the company

The beginnings of ESET date back to 1987, when two young programming enthusiasts, Peter Paško and Miroslav Trnka, wrote a program for the detection of one of the world’s first computer viruses. They did not know that they had created one of the most successful antivirus programs in the world – dubbing it NOD. In 1992, together with their mutual friend Rudolf Hrubý, they formally established ESET.

What started as the brainchild of a few friends has evolved into the most valuable international brand of any Slovak company. Today ESET’s NOD32 technology protects over 100 million users across the world.

This success did not come overnight. The company’s global success and growth was given a boost in 1998 with its first “VB100” award from the prestigious Virus Bulletin magazine. Since then, we’ve received this accolade more than 100 times.

Today, over 1,800 employees around the world drive the company’s success – a telling increase from 3 in 1987 and 135 in 2006. Almost 900 of them are based in Slovakia, the home of ESET headquarters.
