Job description, responsibilities and duties

ESET is looking for an enthusiastic person experienced in Compensation who will be responsible for planning, developing and implementation of new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures.

Job description:
• Preparing and participating in annual and ad-hoc compensation and HR policy surveys and assist with compensation analyses, market research and job matching, job evaluation and pay equity activities
• Re-evaluating current job positions, promotions and compensation proposals for prospective employees, etc.
• Evaluating proposed and existing jobs and classifying them in accordance with the levels of importance and responsibility
• Managing job documentation, job descriptions, databases and tables related to job codes and job families
• Preparing statistical analysis, data modeling and incentive pay programs
• Providing guidance for management on issues related to compensation
• Preparing supporting data for the review of annual salary budget
• Reviewing of salary increases for accuracy and preparing performance bonus calculations before submission for approval and processing
• Responsible for relocation programs in the case of staff transfers between organizational units in other countries, including trend surveys and the specifics of remuneration models in the country of relocation
• Design processes, create working practices and guidelines related to the areas of responsibility listed above

• Minimum of 3+ years performing Compensation related duties, preferably within a global organization
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills including the ability to offer alternative and creative solutions
• Advanced expertise with MS Office tools, specifically Excel
• Workday HR IS experience is a huge asset
• Excellent attention to details
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently in a changing, fast paced environment
• Manage the completion of projects independently and as a team
• Proactive communication, follow-up skills and great attention to detail
• Ability to be a contributing member to HR team by working collaboratively and sharing responsibilities


Brief description of the company

The beginnings of ESET date back to 1987, when two young programming enthusiasts, Peter Paško and Miroslav Trnka, wrote a program for the detection of one of the world’s first computer viruses. They did not know that they had created one of the most successful antivirus programs in the world – dubbing it NOD. In 1992, together with their mutual friend Rudolf Hrubý, they formally established ESET.

What started as the brainchild of a few friends has evolved into the most valuable international brand of any Slovak company. Today ESET’s NOD32 technology protects over 100 million users across the world.

This success did not come overnight. The company’s global success and growth was given a boost in 1998 with its first “VB100” award from the prestigious Virus Bulletin magazine. Since then, we’ve received this accolade more than 80 times.

Today, over 1,000 employees around the world drive the company’s success − more than 450 of them in Slovakia, the home of ESET headquarters. We put great emphasis on research and development. In addition to seven regional centers, we are building a network of technology centers around the world – at present numbering nine.
