Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
- Strengthening the portal administration team and supporting the development team with programming, design, and testing
- Setting up new portal servers/portal applications
- Familiarizing yourself with existing systems, including documentation (standard portal, application management, user access control, internal portal)
- Collaborating with customers and developers as a partner in the setup/design of new applications/servers/infrastructures
- Configuring/connecting portal applications to established systems (LDAP, backup, network, file systems)
- Debugging and analyzing customer issues related to portal requests (supporting application operators in identifying connection and Protocol issues, performance tuning, etc.)
- Integration of portal systems/portal applications into logging, monitoring, and backup
- Proof of concept for new products within the portal and developer platform
- Support in setting up the developer platform (Git, Nexus, CI/CD, GitLab Runner pipelines, etc.)
- Further development of the portal software and portal administration tools (support of the portal development system by creating feature requests and bug reports, participation in the development and design of new portal systems)
- Scripting and programming (primarily: bash, python, java, JavaScript, and others)

- The combination of developer and administrator experience is very important for this position.
Must skills:
- Senior Linux Administrator (installation and maintenance of servers and installation/maintenance of various Linux applications, troubleshooting, debugging, and analysis) – 10+ years of experience
- LDAP/OpenLDAP (understanding of LDAP down to the protocol level, server setup (primarily OpenLDAP), management of read and write clusters, replication, data maintenance, backup/restore) – 5+ years of experience
- Docker/DockerSwarm, Kubernetes, and other container engines. Setup, Management, Backup/Restore – 5+ years of experience
- Load balancer/HA proxy and other HA technologies based on Linux – 5+ years of experience
- Senior Java Developer – 5+ years of experience
- Git (primarily GitLab)/Sonatype Nexus, Subversion – Server setup and configuration, GitLab Runner – 5+ years of experience
- PKI infrastructures (In-depth understanding, troubleshooting, setup, certificate and CA maintenance) – 5+ years of experience
- Graylog and other Elasticsearch/OpenSearch-based services – 3+ years of experience
- Apache HTTP, nginx – 5+ years of experience
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with the Austrian portal network (PVP 1.8-2.3)
- SAML
- OIDC
Soft Skills:
