Job description, responsibilities and duties

Test engineering leader leads a team of test engineers and test technicians to meet production and quality targets. The position involves close cooperation with all engineering disciplines (product, process and quality engineers) as well as with suppliers. Ability to work in a team environment is a must. Applicant must be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. A strong and systematic commitment to standard work, continuous improvement and root cause corrective action is required.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Test Engineering engineers and technicians
• Staff and develop test engineers and technicians and continuously improve them
• Drive the creation of test engineering processes and test procedures and continuously improve them
• Drive continuous improvement and root cause corrective actions in test related problems
• Align resources and develop strategies to meet targets
• Lead electro-mechanical troubleshooting of test systems
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and plans in place to maximize uptime
• Implement Standard Work for all aspects of the test process, including tooling; written instructions; equipment operation, maintenance
• Work with other engineering functions to develop efficient methods for testing product if required
• Lead implementation and validation of new test systems
• Prepare investment plans in test area
• Cooperate with test systems and measurement devices suppliers
• Prepare offers for test solutions

Personality requirements and skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in test/manufacturing required
• Extensive knowledge of PCB electronics and electro-mechanical components
• Knowledge of IC, Board, Component, Sub-Assembly, Final Assembly and System level testing
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of test equipment and systems (ICT, FCT, HVT, various measurement devices, etc)
• Knowledge of how to apply Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement methods to production test processes
• Excellent written and oral communication skills / English
• Ability to work independently and proactively
