Job description, responsibilities and duties

In this role you will be working to support WW customer who've outsourced the management of their IT network infrastructure to DXC. On a day to day basis you will provide mainly remote incident, problem and change management and act as a high level NW technical expert. You'll need to be pro-active and regularly analyze data at your disposal to help drive improvement in quality and productivity of services. You’ll be a part of the last line of network support working closely with engineering teams assessing the network infrastructure and addressing design flaws discovered. You’ll participate on projects transforming the network infrastructure to future model of operation. You will need to be able to demonstrate high level of technical skill in the following areas on the daily basis (LAN, WAN, Security).

Main Tasks:
• Manage and implement complex NW changes as part of a project implementation for the existing customers. Analyzes and solves complex incidents involving several different & remote support teams, Identify root cause of incidents and make appropriate recommendation to avoid future failure.
• From a technical perspective you will work with various technologies and vendors (Cisco, F5 BIG-IP - LTM & GTM, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Riverbed, NetScaler, Inflobox)
• You will use and utilize network performance systems: Netscout nGeniusONE, Cisco NDB and various internal DXC systems
• Understand and answer customer needs
• Strictly follows Move to Production (M2P) process including to check that tools and documentation are up to date
• Assess network infrastructure and help improve its stability and redundancy to secure network availability
• Work closely with customer and network engineering including vendors and their support to address open issues and caveats
• Perform investigation on new technology, help inbound project managers and other support team to introduce new technology, capacity planning & performance management
• Acts as point of contact for customers and Delivery Leads for complex technical issues
• Providing support, coaching and training to L1, L2 and GSD teams to spread out network knowledge and experience throughout the company

Information about the selection process

• This position is based in Slovakia, Bratislava
• Permanent Contract with 3 months of probation period
• Full time position
• Working time: morning and afternoon shifts (change on weekly basis), approximately once per 8 weeks one week of night shift + weekends
• Salary offered: will be agreed based on candidate`s experience

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• At least 3 years of experience in IT operations and Network operations
• Cisco Certification to at least CCNP or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of routing and switching including datacenter technologies
• Good understanding of network security technologies including but not limited to NGFWs
• Knowledge of network load-balancers and concepts such as LTM and GTM
• Experience in troubleshooting a broad range of network technologies and ability to learn new technologies
• Strong expertise in at least one specific network technology
• Analytical and complex incident solving skills
• Understanding and clarifying customer needs
• Ability to coordinate complex network changes involving several different support teams
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Fluent English
• Strong communication skills

Technical Knowledge:

From a technical perspective you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
• Troubleshooting and resolving WAN, LAN and network security issues
• Administering TCP/IP LAN's (VLAN routing, VPC, first hop redundancy protocols)
• Knowledge of datacenter technologies and commonly deployed designs
• Administering large-scale and complex WAN networks, good knowledge of BGP
• Troubleshooting skills in various technologies (Cisco, Checkpoint, F5, Fortigate)
• Diagnosing network problems and maintaining network security

Advantages:
