Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a Scrum Master/Agile Lead, ideally experienced in Application Development. In this role you will ensure our application development team(s) live agile values and principles and follow the processes and practices they agreed to use. You will be facilitating the Scrum ceremonies, guiding the team on how to use Agile/Scrum, removing impediments, shielding the team from external interference, coaching the team members, supporting, and educating the product owner(s). The team works on Application Development projects using all possible tools, platforms, and development languages. You will be member of a team of architects, developers and tester participating on the technical design, modeling, coding, testing and release of application to production, under management of Project Manager.
DXC IT projects are moving towards Agile approach, you can be a part of Agile Transformation Initiative for both Projects and Internal organization.

Responsibilities (practical):
  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly agile rituals efficiently
  • Removing blockers or guiding the team to remove them by finding the right personnel
  • Track work progress to identify blockages and developer/engineer divergence from allocated tasks
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on maintaining the product backlog
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example

  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

  • At least 5 years of intensive and progressive experience in a computer related field
  • At least 1 year hands-on experience practicing the Scrum Master role in a team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices and theory
  • Agile/Scrum Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certificate is an asset
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Experience using Agile Tools such as JIRA, Rally, or VersionOne
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, Less, Safe, Crystal, FDD, etc. is an advantage
  • Experience supporting or leading transition from Waterfall to Scrum is a plus
  • Awareness and experience with Agile techniques and principles like User Stories, BDD, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Independent problem solver with troubleshooting, decision making and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Willingness to learn
