Senior Automation Engineer

The Position

We are looking for talented automation developers for a growing team supporting a client in the finance industry. A successful candidate will be joining an international team of skilled colleagues using modern methodologies, such as Scrum or DevOps, and tools, such as Jenkins or Terraform, to build a variety of automation solutions. The main goal is to develop effective and efficient solutions and features based on requirements from architects and product owners. For minor features, the developer should be able to drive the design independently. Additional tasks include support of existing solutions and cooperation with operations teams on solving incidents and bugs. A developer’s assignments are usually driven by product backlogs or project plans. Strong prioritization and good communication skills are a necessary part of performing the job.



The Requirements

Proficiency in PowerShell, Jenkins, Github and a good understanding of CI/CD pipelines are mandatory requirements. Some .NET, Ansible and Terraform knowledge and basic awareness of API concepts are preferred but not obligatory.

Additionally, an automation engineer needs to be comfortable operating in DevOps teams and understand basic Agile and Scrum terminology and processes. Good knowledge of databases and SQL is a key advantage, as are other related skills such as NoSQL, ELK etc. An ideal candidate would also have experience in platform support and virtualization, e.g., Citrix, VMware, Azure and Windows/Linux server management skills and experience.


The Skills

To be able to perform the role, the following skills and experiences are mandatory:
• 3+ years of experience in working in general application development or DevOps roles
• Proficiency in developing complex scripts and applications using PowerShell and other languages
• Experience in working in agile teams (with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps)
• Interest in current developments and trends in the IT industry
