Java Developer / DevOps Engineer

The DXC.technology Cloud and Platform Services Foundation Engineering team has a challenging job for you! We are looking for a technically diverse and motivated individual who has Java and DevOps experience! We are building our next-generation billing and reporting microservices in support our enterprise-class Virtual Private Cloud Offerings.


Your Role
You will work with a small Agile team of talented product owners, software engineers, and QA engineers supporting the build and release processes and lead the deployment of enterprise-class Java code for back-end feature enhancements of new Cloud Offerings. You will also share responsibilities to manage our Linux-based development environments and drive and maintain the release CI/CD pipeline. In this position you will have an opportunity to take on Java coding projects and enhance your Java knowledge while providing some application support activities.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Package and release Java applications -manage version control of internally developed software
• Assist in managing and maintaining our CICD platform and release pipeline - Git, Jenkins, Maven/JFrog/Nexus, Chef
• Set up and manage Linux-Based development and test integration environments VMs and Docker platform containers
• Develop and maintain Chef implementation cookbooks & recipes
• Support application and micro-services development
• Maintain and enhance Java software, APIs, and documentation
• Provide domain-specific technical support for internally developed software applications


Education and Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or (substitute additional 3 years of software development/Linux system administration experience)
• 3 years DevOps engineering in a Linux environment -build and release experience in the following areas
o CICD, Chef, Solid Linux system administration and shell scripting skills
o Linux system administration and Python and Ruby scripting experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language
