Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master / Release Train Engineer (RTE), ideally with experience in development of Cloud or Datacenter infrastructure service offerings, or development of other complex Enterprise Software IT solutions. In this role you will manage and optimize the flow of value across multiple agile development teams organized into Agile Release Train (ART) working on development of Enterprise Private Cloud offerings, accomplished through regular Program Increments. You will act as a servant leader and coach for these development teams, helping them deliver value. You will facilitate the program-level events and processes, communicate with stakeholders, escalate and help remove impediments, help manage risks and drive relentless improvement. You will need to have a solid grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices and understand the unique opportunities and challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large development program. You may also participate in the Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in the new processes and mindsets and will help configure SAFe framework to the organization’s needs, standardizing and documenting practices.
Responsibilities:
•Manage and optimize the flow of value in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) across multiple agile development teams organized into Agile Release Train (ART), using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanbans and other information radiators
•Facilitate the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train (ART) processes and program execution, escalate impediments, manage risk, help drive program-level continuous improvement and assist teams in delivering value
•Facilitate and drive the agile ceremonies such as Program Increment Planning, Product Owner Sync, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, Inspect and Adapt Workshops, Innovation and Sprint Planning events
•Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
•Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency
•Track and publish metrics on ART progress and performance which are used to help identify improvement opportunities (Burn-down Charts, Program Predictability Measure, Program Performance Metrics, Cumulative Flow Diagram, etc.)
•Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary
•Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
•Help manage risks and dependencies, escalate and track impediments
•Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering
•Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
•Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve
•Help build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving
•Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work

•Experience in development of Cloud or Datacenter infrastructure service offerings, or development of other complex Enterprise software IT solutions
•Experience providing leadership, direction, and coaching to Scrum teams and Scrum Masters
•One or more certifications:◦Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
◦Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
◦SAFe certifications (SPC, SP, SA, RTE, SSM)
•Skilled at servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
•Experience using Agile Tools such as JIRA (preferred), Rally, or VersionOne
•Understanding of fundamentals of iterative development, software development processes and procedures, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task/user story definition
•Knowledge of multiple Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc. is an advantage
•Experience supporting or leading transition from Waterfall to Agile methodology is an advantage
•Awareness of and experience with Agile techniques and principles like User Story writing, ATDD, TDD, CI/CD, Automated Testing, Agile Games
