Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Business Solution Architect draws together elements of competitive and market intelligence, an understanding of client requirements, technical solutioning, cost structures, and pricing methodologies to help DXC develop a compelling customer proposition, negotiate, and close new business. The Business Solution Architect leads the team in developing the client business case, price to win target range, while assisting with solution to cost alignment and being an advocate for the client centric view on financial and commercial considerations
The Business Solution Architect responsibilities include:
• Develop the overall business solution, where technical solution and pricing meet, to differentiate DXC from the competition
• Articulate the price to win strategy in a variety of settings including regional deal reviews, corporate deal reviews, and client discussions
• Develop price to win targets and associated cost targets leveraging market trends, client preferences, competitive intelligence, client spend analysis, and knowledge of IT services
• Drive pursuit teams towards technical solutions with underlying cost structures at appropriate margins to support price to win targets
• Develop client facing deliverables
• Assist in developing and qualifying new opportunities, client business case development, and provide deal team thought leadership
• Deliver support effectively from both virtual and onsite (DXC and client) environments

For higher experienced targets:
Candidates should have either an IT background with demonstrated business acumen, or financial background gained in the IT industry. Ideally, candidates should have been involved in winning outsourcing contracts or advising clients in the procurement of these contracts. Specific experience should include:
• Very Strong MS Excel skills with a high degree of comfort using, building, and tracing complex excel formulas
• Experience developing price to win analyses for competitive, large and complex opportunities using both top-down and bottom-up methodologies
• Experience in offering development, solution development, or transaction support (pricing, costing, finance) with a high comfort level of handling ambiguity or imperfect information and driving above level leaders to optimum decisions
• Excellent communicator, both verbally and written, in a variety of environments with a demonstrated ability to adapt to a meeting’s changing social dynamics while maintaining a client centric view
• Adept at handling a changing workload and priorities across individual work assignments, aligned team projects, and individually generated contributions to team’s capabilities. A desire to learn and to teach is critical
• Participation in Bid/No Bid reviews and Win Strategy workshops
• High level of proficiency with delivery & location strategies, staffing models, and productivity levers
• Familiarity with data and offerings from external IT advisors such as Everest, Gartner, ISG, HfS, Forrester, etc
