Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

1. Maintain a good knowledge of DS Smith’s application and technical infrastructure
2. Ensure all activities are carried out in line with the agreed processes and procedures used in the DS Smith IT department.
3. Work with and provide day to day coordination of third party support providers as necessary
4. Propose potential areas for service improvement
5. Ensure there is successful handover of new services / systems from other IT teams.
6. Provide reporting as required
7. Logging of all Incidents and requests.
8. Ensure service desk tickets are kept up to date to reflect their current status.
9. Undertake 1st line and, where possible,2nd line resolution of incidents and requests.
10. Ensure all high priority incidents and requests are escalated correctly both functionally and hierarchically.
11. Work to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
12. Take ownership and manage incidents and requests registered through to completion.
13. Help document processes and procedures to assist new joiners.
14. Deliver exceptional customer service and communication to all IT Users.

1. IT Service Desk experience
2. Good infrastructure, server, network, VMware platform, Active Directory and desktop computing knowledge.
3. Good IT service background
4. Excellent communication skills (verbal)
5. Proven experience of building relationships with challenging / difficult customers
6. Good listening skills to seek feedback from customers
7. Proven ability to investigate and troubleshoot problems
8. High level of proficiency in English language (written and oral)
9. Holds a clean driver’s licence
