Dimension Data is growing up and looking for an interesting candidate to support our customers around EU

Your responsibilities:

  • 24/7 Level 1 support with the main focus on Data Centre Technologies
  • Monitoring of ITSM tools and ticket handling
  • Ticket coordination between client and partners
  • Basic trouble shooting supporting Data Centre Technologies with focus on Linux and Windows Servers
  • Technical coordination and preparation of technical documentation and reports

What we expect from you:

  • A successfully completed technical studies (for example, computer science, engineering, electrical engineering) or equivalent technical training
  • Relevant work experience in the areas of Data Centre and Security - Basic Data Centre knowledge (servers, virtualization, backup services)
  • Understanding of Event, Incident, Request, Change and Problem Management after ITIL best practice
  • Fluent English and German skills (in speaking and writing)
  • Ability to work on shifts- 24x7 rotation
  • A structured approach combined with a very careful, accurate and results-oriented approach, particularly in problem analysis
  • Strong customer and service orientation combined with good manners and good communication and teamwork skills

Technical requierements:

  • Windows (2008 R2 / 2012 R2 - GUI) and Linux (SLES 11 / SLES 12 / RedHat 7 / Oracle Linux 7 - CLI) Server- Remote Login, Start/Stop Services, Change Network Configuration, Add Disk Space (Windows: Disk Manager / Linux: LVM), Change User / Groups, Software Installation, Check / Verify Configuration and Settings
  • Active Directory- Add / Change User, Add / Change Groups, Password Reset
  • DNS- Add / Change DNS Records
  • VMWare vCenter- Console Login to VM, Start / Stop VM
  • Networking- basic Understanding of IP Addresses (Public / Private), Routing, Subnetting

It will be great if you are experienced with:

  • Cisco UCS / UCS Manager: Basic Understanding / Troubleshooting Skills
  • Commvault: Basic Understanding / Troubleshooting Skills
  • SUSE Manager / Spacewalk: Basic Understanding / Troubleshooting Skills
  • Microsoft WSUS / Microsoft SCCM: Basic Understanding / Troubleshooting Skills
  • Scripting / Automation Skills: For Example: Powershell, Bash, Python, Ansible
