Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the company’s databases. The DBA provides technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems that support company’s business and applications. Additional responsibilities include reporting, data input and output, technology management, and end-user support.



You are responsible for

• Handling of corporate processes and requirements in Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Configuration Management
• Operational experience with Operating Systems, e.g. MS Windows Server 2012+, Linux based systems
• Delivering/supporting of Root Cause analysis within scope of responsibilities for major issues
• Consulting and collaboration with other technical roles, mainly with Solution architects, Solution owners or Service owners
• Updating Customer specific or Project documentation, Known error documentation, Knowledge Base within area of responsibility
• Responsible for Continual Service Improvement through automation IT solution, improving of effectiveness of services and decreasing of failures
• Understanding of principles of networks, storages, databases, virtualization, computing, middleware
• Take the on call duty role to provide 24/7 support for customers
• Supports team in agreed overtime work and change management also during assigned weekend changes
• Mentoring of the colleagues within the team


Required Qualifications

• High level of operational experience and technical knowledge in regards to enterprise level RDBMS Infrastructures and Environments, f.e. MS SQL, Oracle and DB2 (5 Years)
• Operational experience with administration of Operating Systems, f.e. MS Windows Server 2012+, Oracle Linux
• Ability to develop and maintain SQL queries/scripts to automate maintenance tasks and other application related tasks
• Good knowledge about Active Directory/LDAP and respective authentication methods
• Ability to develop, present and implement HA/DR solutions with POC
• Deeply rooted technical understanding and experience of respective RDBMS to be able to provide Root Cause Analysis in a timely manner
• Capable of working without direct supervision
• Able to contribute to the definition of IT technology strategy, standards and roadmaps
• Understanding of principles of networks, storages, databases, virtualization, computing, middleware and enterprise applications
• General overview of the available RDBMS solutions in respective fields
• Ability to work in a very dynamic environment that adjusts to the customers’ needs
• Self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and ability to grow new technologies
• Spoken and written English language on B2 level (spoken German is a Plus)
