Job description, responsibilities and duties

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this vacancy is to manage existing carriers & fleet trucks, to ensure the FTL department continuously increases transportation capacities via internal and external carrier partnerships as well as increase carrier base and team capabilities of outsourcing existing business to appropriate carriers bearing in mind profitability element. Searching for new ways of selling transportation services, being responsible for quotations, and implementing continuous improvement activities to transport department processes via internal DHL procedures. Manage customer relationships, and track market conditions and benchmarks toward customers in order to provide competitive prices and solutions


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Management of positive customer relationships
• Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet and exceed contractual terms and DHL expectations
• Manage and provide freight services for potential and existing customers in Slovakia & Europe
• Manage a team of freight forwarding and fleet department and ensure efficient allocation of transport capacities
• Lead Operational excellence via DHL techniques, tools, and methodologies
• Work closely with the CEE transport team to deliver pricing via the optimization of one-way transport
• To ensure data accuracy is maintained and provided, or improved where possible within internal transport databases
• To develop cost models for own fleet / subcontracted carriers are considered in customer quotations
• To support the benchmarking of transport costs regularly
• Ensure that the costs provided are based on logistics solutions that are deliverable
• Operation planning related to strategic country goals
• Develop new customer basis together with BD based on operational outlook via market execution
• Continually seek to reduce cost with more efficient routing & scheduling
• Emergency management related to transport capacity issues
• Collaborate with CEE Control tower on outsourcing pre-paid services
• Monitor TMS capabilities and report issues to the responsible IT team
• Create and maintain a positive working environment
• Management of 8 direct reports
• Ensuring team efficiencies in export and import market search
