Job description, responsibilities and duties
Job description:
- Responsible for planning, implementation, development and testing of HW/ SW components for the distribution network (IP network based on P/PE routers that interconnects Pan-Net datacenters with NatCos and external networks)
- Responsible for communication with 3rd parties/vendors during tendering process (RFI/RFQ) or during definition of requirements on IP network design.
- Monitoring/tracking performance of systems, dimensioning, and capacity planning rg. future demands
- Develop solutions to automate configuration and monitoring of IP routers and switches
- Responsible for integration of new technologies (HW/ SW), definition of upgrade strategies for HW/SW and lifecycle plans for routers of the distribution network.
- Responsible for preparation of technical feasibiilty studies, design proposals and execution of POCs for the distribution network
- Responsible to define technical parameters and KPI’s for monitoring of the distribution network together with the SOC team.
- Participate on solving and eliminating of ops issues – perform 2nd and 3rd level support (rotating on-call duty required)
- Responsible for preparation of the techn. Documentation related to the distribution network: HLD and LLD
- Preparation of vendor specific configuration templates

KPIs / Key deliverables:
- Responsible for Design, Build and 2nd line of operations of backbone network Infrastructure (IP Layer).
- Ensuring Infrastructure availability with all its attributes (performance, cost, capacity, reliability).
- Be responsible for the coordination among multiple development groups and close collaboration with infrastructure teams, PanNet SOC, NatCos and 3rd party providers
- Education:Bachelor / Master Degree in Computer Science, Telecomunication Engineering, Information Systems or related field
- Professional knowledge, skills, know-how in the field & experience in the field:More than five years’ experience in area of platforms design and testing, competence in IP network engineering
- Operational experience in IP network trouble shooting and root cause analysis
- Language skills:English language - fluent (verbal and written communication skills)
- Knowledge of other EU working languages would be an asset
- Interpersonal, communication skills:Excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills, resourcefulness and initiative
- Ability to multitask in a busy and demanding environment
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability to handle confidential and highly sensitive information

- Hard skills:Carrier IP network deisgn, in particular IPv6, BGP, ISIS/OSPF, QoS, multicast,

- Practical experience with carrier grade routing hardware and software from major vendors, in particular Juniper, Cisco or Huawei.
- Experience in scripting (e.g. Python) or automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible)
- CCNP/CCIE or equivalent certification preferred
- MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio, Project) – advanced
