Job description, responsibilities and duties

Tasks:
As Teamlead you are leading an operating team of 5+ IT Cloud experts. You are organizing the daily work of the team and assure and organize close collaboration with the other DevOps teams.
  • Operation of services under our management e.g. TelekomCloud Portal, Central Service Infrastructure, MTR (a trusted Docker registry) according to ITIL v3 and DevOps principles
  • Manage all incidents to ensure application availability and proper operation within existing processes and infrastructure according to ITIL and Agile methodology
  • Implementation of changes such as deployments, transition to new services, maintenance or automation of infrastructure
  • Monitoring and analysis of stability, capacity and performance
  • Development, refinement and documentation of policies, processes, procedures and their implementation and use for operations management
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including internal penetration and vulnerability scans
  • Leading complex, overarching optimization projects with other departments, end users or business partners
  • 3rd level technical support for the resolution of incidents; Coordination / cooperation of external support partners in solving problems
  • Close collaboration with Business Operations and CMS teams in Darmstadt, Germany
  • 24x7 support service (on-call duty)
  • Ensuring and performing backups and recovery
  • Close collaboration with DevOps teams in Germany (Darmstadt, Berlin)
  • Advising the management in all technical matters regarding the operation of the existing infrastructure

University education (Bachelor's degree)

  • Advanced experience in operating a cloud environment with the following technologies: LAMP-Stack, Open Stack, Python, GIT, key management, it automation (e.g. Puppet, Ansible)
  • Experience in IT automation tools like Puppet or Chef and Ansible. In general you prefer API over GUI.
  • Good understanding and experience in Docker and Kubernetes
  • ITIL v3 certification
  • Understanding / experience in working in a DevOps environment
  • Experience in agile software development methods like Scrum and Kanban
  • Willingness to travel internationally on a frequent basis (0-25%)
  • Strong communications skills in English (fluent spoken and written), good communication skills in German is a plus.
