Job Description, Roles & Responsibilities, Deliverables

Key Performance Indicators / Key responsibilities and deliverables:
  • Definition and continuous development of the architecture of DT Pan Net’s cloud platform for virtualization of network functions
  • Manages the development and release-planning of the Cloud platform
  • Resposible for preparation technical studies and design proposal for NFVI and definition of architectural requirements (for RFI, RFP, FS)
  • Responsible for definition and governance of technological changes (consolidations of applications and HW, retirement of platforms and applications, upgrade plans) improving whole NFVI architecture in terms of cost efficiency.

  •  Detailed job description, responsibilities:Maintain cloud-readiness criteria that applications must comply with for being onboarded (level of cloudification, manageability, verification tests, documentation, licensing, fulfilling platform policies, security, etc.)
  • Define acceptance criteria and checklist for including new infrastructure resources (provided by datacenter(s)) into the Cloud Platform
  • Receive Application Manager's new requirements and balance these against platform efficiency for further evolution of the platform
  • Define requirements for connectivity between the used data centers
  • Keep backlog of Cloud Platform updated
  • Communication and cooperation with 3rd parties/ vendors during tendering process or during definition of requirements on NFVI architecture.
  • Monitoring of market trends, legislation and competition in the area of NFVI
  • Participation on the projects and project management governance, responsible for administration of project documentation (i.e. business cases, project plans, responsibility matrix, project scope).
  • Maintain compliance with (e.g. Natco-specific) legal aspects

  • University degree in Technical area  (Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field)
  •  Professional knowledge, skills, know-how in the field & experience in the field:5 years experience in area of network and/or IT architectures working for a communication service provider, cloud service provider or relevant equipment/software vendor.
  • Detailed understanding of virtualization technologies.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies and tools
  • Good understanding of requirements of network functions on NFVI
  • Experience in contribution torelevant standardization and industry bodies: e.g. ETSI, ONF, IETF
  •  Language skills:English language – fluent (excellent verbal and written communication skills)
  •  Interpersonal, communication skills:Main interfaces for the position:  internal PanNet employees, other PanNet companies, DT,  external 3rd parties

  • Candidates with relevant certifications in the area of IT and Networking are preferred, e.g.  ONF certified SDN professional.


Brief description of the company

Deutsche Telekom Pan-Net, s.r.o. - established within Pan IP program is a company which will pilot and manage the whole pan-European Network. From Bratislava, this company will be the first point of contact regarding all overarching matters of the national companies with respect to the pan-European Network.
Being the key entry gate for requirements towards Pan-Net portfolio, we will manage a common service production catalogue, establish new processes and operating models, combining assets and resources to create services for the national companies.
To achieve all this we are building a new, cross-functional and truly international team.
