Job description, responsibilities and duties

As a leading digital telecommunications company, we want to meet our customers' basic expectations for personalization, simplicity and a new digital experience. To do this, we are reducing the complexity of our systems and the commissioning of services in the long term and thus implementing the transformation to modern digital platform services. As the gateway for the entire manual service provision of the DTA (Deutsche Telekom Außendienst GmbH), we offer a stable and flexible service assignment for all customer segments (internal and external) and processes (provision, problem solving, infrastructure services).

As the WOM hub, we are responsible for the WMS-TK system (workflow management system for technical customer service), it is one of the central order control systems for technical field service (DTA) and technical service (DTS). The core system based on ARS (BMC Remedy) is primarily used for order entry, coordination and control of all order types in the provision and fault clearance process for the individual and mass market. Due to a high degree of configuration options within the system and the expansion of Java services, the system is constantly growing. The long-term development towards a service-oriented architecture approach with comprehensive use of general REST and API approaches manipulates WMS-TK as a central workforce control component.

General description
• Develops new and maintains existing source code of applications
• Works in SCRUM team on developing and building midsize and complex applications for customer usage
• Serves as professional mentor for junior developers

Accountabilities
• Listen to user requests, consult with customers, project managers, assist in gathering requirements for preparation of application detailed feature specification as necessary basis of quality and functional application
• Analyze customer’s requirements and propose overall application / framework design of midsize application architecture (incl. interfaces, relation database structure), provide complex business analysis in order to build application functionality easy for maintenance and future extension according to customer needs as business intelligent solution that implements business processes in automated form
• Provide project estimates, timeline for total development effort and bug fixing and report it to customer for budget planning in advance
• Implement customer’s requirements based on specification in selected object oriented programming language into functional and user friendly application to meet customer’s needs
• Provide testing of programmed functionality before deployment in order to avoid bugs and ensure quality of code
• Write and update regularly complex technical / system documentation for official handover to operation process, also create analytical documentation incl. UML for other programmers and customer
• Communicate project status and deliverables to managers, customer with efficiency and accuracy of any progress or delays to keep them informed and let them be ready for managerial decision and project’s adjustment in advance
• Maintain application on 2nd, 3rd level support by fixing bugs and regular check, programming updates of features on customer’s change request to satisfy customer needs and to ensure smooth running of the application with added value
• Perform deploy on infrastructure, backup and restore procedures, handle release management in order to provide regular upgrades of software to have up to date features implemented according to agreement with customer

Wage (gross)

3 100 EUR/monthFinal salary is negotiable. We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2 700 € /brutto. Sign on Bonus 5000€ brutto. Details during interview.

• Cluster 1: ARS – SQL (Oracle), GUI Design (ARS), Test Frameworks  (Selenium), git
• Cluster 2: Java – Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices, Micro Frontends, gitlab ci/cd, GUI Design, Test Frameworks
In both clusters always the T-Shaped approach is expected. Meaning that all skills (design, development, test, operation) should be covered with a healthy distribution within the team. Especially it is expected that developers also cover test automation skills.
