Job description, responsibilities and duties

Sovereign Cloud is T-Systems' cloud offering for clients with high sovereignty needs. Clients in regulated sectors such as healthcare and the public sector are put in complete charge of their data – on an open-source platform, hosted in Europe. Our focus is to build new product – Sovereign Cloud within T-systems international cloud portfolio. Cloud Architect is directly responsible for architecture and technical lead for implementation of Kubernetes based Platform as a Service offering to Sovereign Cloud.

As Cloud Architect for Sovereign Cloud you will create next-generation cloud solution, with the focus on EU healthcare, security and public sector area. Design and lead technical team by set of sovereignty controls and measures, including encryption and identity management and control function over relevant parts of the Sovereign Cloud. Cloud architect is responsible for identification and realization of roadmap defined together with Product management. He acts as a technical lead of dev-ops and cloud engineers while ensuring product sustainability and tools required for successful operations for clients. Takes lead and defines automation tools, and ensures projects technical activities are implemented correctly. Provides prototypes and concepts for further automation of assigned technology. We are looking for candidate who want to work with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and are capable to design individual solutions. Candidates should be interested to work E2E for customers, from request clarification to designed solution - go live.

Accountabilities

• Design and consulting Secure / Hybrid-Cloud setups with the focus on DevOps approaches including (but not limited to) CI/CD pipelines, code repositories and such.
• Design and consulting container technologies and solutions both in dedicated scenarios as well as with cloud-based (PaaS & SaaS) setups.
• Support with developing concepts for application migrations and re-platforming approaches.
• Ability to implement and configure container services and CI/CD pipelines, at least support OPS teams on a practical level.
• Design, develop, test, implement and support components and applications in order to deliver quality standard product portfolio.
• Build and develop concepts, processes and methods for automation, optimization and standardization to satisfy efficiency and automation requirements.
• Provide advice or information at request or at own initiative to all relevant employees or customers regarding technical aspects of products.
• Consult and implement new innovative technologies to satisfy innovation strategy.
• Provide overall solutions and principles in planning, developing and implementing new products to satisfy business requirements.
• Mentor and train co-workers to spread knowledge level and develop their skills.
• Act as key technical lead and solve and coordinate activities across related technologies/outside own team.
• Provide consulting services to project teams on areas of expertise.
• Research and development in assigned technology, determine business requirements, propose changes and develop implementation plans.
• Contact person for stakeholders (Product Manager, Product Owner, Operations Team, Customer)
• Improve platform development and release lifecycle efficiencies by modernizing our processes & workflows

Wage (gross)

2 200 EUR/monthWe are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2 200€/brutto. We also provide a sign on bonus of € 5,000 for each candidate hired for this position.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

• Experienced in Solution Designing & Architecture including technical leadership and client presentation skills
• Experienced in Kubernetes container-based technologies
• Experience with scripting languages (Go/Python/Bash,)
• Experience with Automation tools and automation deployments (Ansible/Salt-stack/Terraform/Helm)
• Expert in automation with Git (GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD
• Experience with Linux OS & monitoring and visualization tools (like Grafana, Prometheus, Instana)
• Experience with databases (Postgres, MySQL, HANA) OR Experience with streaming and indexing is advantage (Kafka, Elastic Search)

Experience
• 3-5 years experience in the area of responsibility
