The purpose of this role is to manage the activities of the specific department of the DC ensuring an efficient, safe and secure process.
• Operational management of people and processes ensuring the highest quality and efficiency
• Manages the applicable key logistics levels and personnel costs
• Translates general logistics policies to own department, deciding on priorities
• Ensures availability of all necessary equipment and means for the department to be able to get the job done
• Maintains excellent relationships with suppliers
• Secures compliance to labor/environment/safety legislation and regulations
• Clearly steers a team, takes the lead, plans operations and activities
• Is actively involved in improving direct reports’ skills by providing constructive feedback, instructions, explanation and coaching.
• Gives direct and constructive feedback about the delivered performance and personal development related to future requirements and priorities
• Responsible for an optimal staffing, recruitment activities and retaining of direct and indirect reports within the department
• Project leader in applicable projects in department
