We’re looking for Operations Manager who will be responsible for maximising the performance of the collection and in bound delivery service for Customer's plant by providing leadership, focusing on customer requirements, effective operational performance, and motivated workforce. He/she will develop strategic plans based on the Customer's production schedules optimising the Slovakian, European and UK collection network for all the inbound material. He/she will manage a diverse team in order to fulfill business requirements. He/she will be contributing to the broader commercial environment, taking responsibility for attracting new and additional business.

In the role of Operations Manager

• You will manage positive customer relationships

• You develop/ achieve agreed budget, revenue and profit
• You will create a culture of continuous improvement
• You will be responsible for project management and implementation support for the business (first line of approach for the customer and DHL)
• You will manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet and exceed contractual terms and DHL expectations
• You will manage and provide freight costs for potential and existing suppliers in the Slovakia, UK, Europe and global supply base
• You will work closely with the customer's procurement and sourcing departments to provide logistics expertise on strategic projects
• You will develop cost models for new model planning / routes to market
• You will support the benchmarking of the solutions (resource models and costs) to ensure best practice (within DHL Supply Chain Automotive, and the DHL businesses ), thereby ensuring the costs provided are competitive
• You will ensure that the costs provided are based on logistics solutions that are deliverable
• You will be responsible for strategic planning activity
• You will secure agreement on planning changes with key stakeholders (In Plant, Carriers & Suppliers)
• You will manage the cost down budget expectations through the re-plan activity, you will continously seek to reduce cost with more efficient routing & scheduling
• You will deal with any operational issues when they arrive providing positive feedback/ updates in conjunction with any process improvements to both DHL operations and or the customer

Personality requirements and skills

• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and motivation skills
• Customer -focused, able to establish a successful long-term business partnership with internal and external customers
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Budgetary and cost modeling experience
• High standard of commercial awareness and an understanding of key costs and cost drivers within the supply chain (including Europe)
• Ability to manage and implement low to medium size projects to agreed timescales and budgets
• Slovakia, European, UK, and/or global logistics pricing knowledge & experience (Possible Freight Forwarding background)
• Previous experience in a logistics environment (preferable in automotive logistics & planning)
• Excellent planning skills experience of planning software (paragon).
• Good written and communication skills and experiences in dealing/ presenting to a customer face to face
• Ability to travel within Slovakia, UK and Europe
• Knowledge Slovakia / EU/ UK transport legislation
• Fluent in English and other language (German, Polish, Slovak) is an advantage
