Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Consolidations Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for serving as a business partner to support the Company’s monthly consolidation of the worldwide operating results and provides financial analysis and additional reporting of these results as necessary. Responsible for supporting and analyzing financial operations of the Company. Provides support and coordination in administration, business planning, accounting, and SEC reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Financial Reporting Consolidations Manager and works closely with the Director, Financial Reporting and Systems, SEC Reporting Director and Manager, and VP of Accounting and has exposure to the Executive Management team.
• Learning and understanding Dentsply Sirona’s reporting structure. The Company’s reporting structure is complex, with numerous differences between the legal entities reported in the consolidation and the Pillar Reporting reviewed by management.
• Assisting the Financial Reporting Consolidations Manager in the preparation and execution of consolidating worldwide results for monthly actual results by the deadlines. This includes converting local currency financial information into US Dollars and calculating translation impacts, preparing consolidation statements and variance reports for monthly close procedures, reviewing submitted data from reporting locations for accuracy and adherence to reporting instructions, creating elimination entries and posting entries received from other Corporate departments, reviewing variance reports and following up with reporting locations on unusual items as necessary.
• Assists Tax Department with Legal Entity Forecast process, including posting journal entries, etc.
• The incumbent supports the worldwide consolidation of the monthly forecasting and annual budget processes as necessary which includes preparation of elimination and Non-GAAP entries.
• Setting up and maintaining reporting templates that use a Hyperion data source to summarize the monthly/quarterly and annual financial information required for analysis and reporting purposes. This includes support in the preparation of the consolidated statement of cash flows and supporting schedules.
• The incumbent is responsible for additional analysis which includes certain annual and quarterly footnote disclosures for filings for the SEC, quarterly sales statistics reports on geographic and product results, quarterly reports given to the CEO/CFO for use in quarterly analyst conference calls, monthly management reports and summaries of results, monthly reports given to certain internal departments, internally required management financial reports, special analysis, and other Corporate and local reporting requirements.
• Incumbent responsible for set-up and maintenance of Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) locations, historical USD worksheets, and all elimination entries in consolidation.
• Proactively recommending ways to continuously improve the internal processes within the Consolidations Reporting group. This includes participating in process improvement initiatives, initiating open dialogue with Senior Management and working with other functions within the Finance group in order to create efficiencies and streamline processes and procedures.
• Support the Financial Reporting Consolidations Manager in providing financial support to other Corporate functions in strategic initiatives and analyses. The incumbent will participate in the development of financial models to bolster analysis and participate in strategic project teams. Requires regular interaction with key organization stakeholders and management.
• Being well organized and prepared to report information to Senior Management in a timely manner. Reports and analyses must be completed in a relatively short period of time in order to provide Senior Management with timely information.
• Will assist in other projects as assigned by the Financial Reporting Consolidations Manager

Personality requirements and skills

• Bachelor's degree (B. A. /B.S.) in accounting from a four-year college or university
• The incumbent should have a working knowledge of GAAP that can be applied to the job responsibilities.
• Certifications/Licensing: CPA, CMA or MBA candidates are preferred.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience in accounting, preferably in public accounting and/or consolidation processes.
• Prior experience with the Oracle Hyperon suite of applications (HFM and FDMEE) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of US GAAP is required
• Knowledge of foreign currency translation is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills including understanding of pivot tables and formula creation. Experience working with or creating macros is highly desired.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before senior management as well as other groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
• Experience building financial reports is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
