Job description, responsibilities and duties

Mission:

As the General Ledger Supervisor you will be responsible for the financial record keeping, reporting, and analysis of the general accounting information to finance and operating management for EMEA locations. You will also be responsible to supervise a team of 8-10 Accountants and provide support for the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes through timely and accurate execution of the financial close checklists and General Accounting’s policies and procedures.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide overall guidance to a team Accountants responsible for General Accounting tasks
  • Establish work priorities, goal setting, performance reviews
  • Assign duties and workload within the RTR group to ensure timeliness and accuracy in work deliveries
  • Maintain and communicate corporate month/quarter end and year end close calendar and check list
  • Interact with location finance personnel regarding adjustments, special journal entries, etc.
  • VAT reporting, communication with Internal Tax departments and external auditors or Tax authorities
  • Review Intercompany reconciliations and support GL accountants with mismatches including follow up communication to various locations
  • Review and approve as well as monitor for the completeness of account reconciliations
  • Provide P&L analysis for the various departments/ Business Unit within the location
  • Coordinate monthly and annual location cross charges to other Dentsply Sirona locations
  • Manage Hyperion reporting within FDM and DIIHFM by filling out roll forward webforms, verifying validation control
  • Review and approve journal entries as defined by the monthly close checklists and General Accounting policies and procedures
  • Interact with other areas of GBS to diagnose, assist with and resolve subsystem posting errors or other subsystem processing
  • Support the process enhancements and improvements driven by the General ledger Global process Owner
  • Responsible for owning key touch points during close with the location controller / accounting manager
  • Support internal and external auditors with audit reports. Comply with all Dentsply Sirona and Global Business Services policies and procedures. Comply with defined SOX processes
  • Ensure that all supporting documentation is properly filed and stored in accordance with policy
Complete other cyclical and all other assignments and duties as assigned


Requirements

  • High School diploma or bachelor’s degree
Active knowledge of English Language (C1), any other language is an advantage
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Good command of current versions of Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • ERP systems such as AX dynamics, SAP is an advantage
Strong analytic skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in design and analysis of business processes and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong decision-making, communication, organization and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Comfort working in a global business environment that is undergoing process and technology changes.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work as a team to cultivate change and process improvements.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to identify problems involving several variables in a variety of situations and resolve.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls is an advantage.
