Job description, responsibilities and duties

As Master Data and Technology Manager, you’ll implement & maintain the vendor master data program and lead other procurement technology implementations. You’ll drive the strategy and ensuring policy adoption, and you’ll assist in defining data management priorities. Partnering closely with Procurement leadership, Category Teams, IT, Finance, Global Business Services, Legal and other teams, you’ll be responsible for analyzing, selecting and implementing technology solutions/platforms across the procurement organization.

This position can be based either in Mölndal, Sweden or Bratislava, Slovakia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure defining & refreshing of data, maintaining critical data element listing, data catalog & data dictionary
  • Creates and monitors KPIs and metrics associated to the health of various data sets as well as monitoring the ongoing health and impact of the process/tool changes
  • Monitors and ensures that governance capabilities are aligned with business & technology visions across Master data hub, ERPs, Global Data Warehouse and other business applications
  • Oversees the integration framework between the Master Data hub and all other existing subscribing applications and new procurement applications/technology platforms
  • Serves as a point of contact for Vendor Master data escalations to the Data Governance Council
  • Liaises between various Business Units & functions with the Data Governance Organization
  • Assists data stewards in developing policies, standards and processes in line with Data Governance standards
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency & effectiveness of the procurement organization using new technology or through system changes; strategic tools on the source-to-contract side as well as tactical purchasing tools such as guided buying, etc.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and cross-functionally during discovery, implementation & post project stages; drives operational effectiveness and efficiency through project design and post go-live optimization
  • Explores Robotic Process Automation opportunities & technology available in the market and builds business cases for implementation
  • Creates related SOP’s and policies and trains the organization accordingly

Personality requirements and skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or similar area with a specialization in Supply Chain Management, Data Management, or Operations Management
  • 5+ years’ experience in Supply Chain, preferably in procurement including 3+ years’ experience in data management
  • 3-5 years’ experience in global project management, dealing with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with best-in-class procurement technology platforms (i.e. Source to Contract, Purchase to Pay platforms)
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing processes for data quality and governance, preferably around Master data
  • Experience with Master data management in a multi-ERP environment
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite - specific apps knowledge would be a plus; Power BI experience would be a plus
  • Strong managerial skills to manage expectations, deliver timely projects and resolve roadblocks
  • Good data management competences (gathering data requirements & executing data collection & validation)
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Self-driven and pro-active nature
  • Excellent communication skills in English (C1 min.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication style to different stakeholders
