Translator (Student)

We are looking for a translator – intern/student for our translation team with an excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Slovak. We offer an opportunity for professional growth as part of our dynamic translation team and flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities:
• Translation of financial and legal documents (financial reports, contracts, business proposals, PowerPoint presentations, etc) from English into Slovak, Slovak into English and Czech into Slovak/English;
• Language reviews of documents in Slovak and English;
• Language advice to the firm’s employees when required.

Requirements:
• 4th year university student, preferably at the Department of English and American Studies of the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University, or the Department of English Language and Literature of the Faculty of Education, Comenius University;
• Detailed knowledge of Slovak and English grammar, lexicology and style;
• Understanding of translation processes and issues;
• Long-term (at least 6 months) stay in an English-speaking country is an advantage;
• Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE), or an equivalent, is an advantage;
• PC skills, experience with CAT tools is an advantage;
• Able to work at least 3 days a week, flexible as regards working hours.
