Senior DataOps Engineer

What you’ll achieve
We are looking for senior colleague to help us to move from bare metal based Hadoop Big Data solution into into cloud storage. He will be testing new technologies that are yet to be integrated into our ecosystem and provide feedback to DataOps and Data Engineering teams. This is great opportunity to get hands on experience of working with Big Data and Cloud environments and related technologies.

You will:

• Execute Proof of Concept (POC) projects in cooperation with peers from different teams

• Share and consult results of POC's with brother team and management and work on bringing the POC to Production

• Assess scalability of proposed or solution beeing tested

• Act as an architect/SME in new Big data technologies for other junior members of the team

• Write Spark Streaming scripts processing data in S3 buckets

• Support Kafka Cluster (setting up monitoring of topics, deploy Spark streaming jobs)

• Maintain code in GitLab with regular code review with assigned peer

Essential Requirements

Personal qualities and working experience

• Education (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Work on assigned task independently and keep commitment on dates
• Thinking out of the box
• Ability to learn fast and adopt new technologies required for work
• Create reliable/maintainable code, adopt to team coding standards

Technical skills

• Python (DataFrames, Garbage Collector)
• Spark Streaming and Data processing (Spark, pySpark)
• 6+ years of proven ability to work with varied data infrastructures – including relational databases, Hadoop and file-based storage solutions
• Maintenance of code in Git (GitLab) and understanding principles of CI/CD deployment
• Familiar / good knowledge of Linux

Desirable Requirements

• Deployment of apps and Docker images into PKS/PCF
• Any of following: Scala, Kubernetes, Airflow, Amazon S3, Kafka

Salary starting from: 3 000 EUR gross monthly
