Job description, responsibilities and duties
Cambridge International School, Bratislava, is seeking a dedicated and responsible Playground Assistant to ensure a safe, engaging, and positive outdoor environment for students during break and lunchtime periods. The successful candidate will supervise pupils, promote good behaviour, and facilitate enjoyable and inclusive play experiences.
Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervise students in the playground, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Encourage positive interactions and inclusive play among students.
Intervene in minor conflicts or incidents, following school policies on behaviour management.
Provide first aid when necessary and report accidents or concerns to the appropriate school staff.
Assist in organising and leading structured outdoor activities.
Monitor and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues in the playground.
Support students in developing social skills and resilience through play.
Ensure adherence to school safeguarding policies and procedures.
Collaborate with teaching and support staff to enhance students' overall school experience.
Assist in the smooth running of the after-school programme.

- Understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR or willingness to undertake training.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a playground setting is an advantage.
