Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Cambridge International School (CIS) in Bratislava, Slovakia, is seeking an excellent communicator to join our school. The appointed candidate will act as first line liaison between parents and the School for all but routine matters, such as minor enquiries, student issues and parental feedback. They will also arrange and disseminate all school communications to parents following a strategic plan. Additional responsibilities will include leading on school communications such as monthly newsletters and annual Yearbooks, and working closely with Marketing and Admissions on student enrolment and with Events and Reception colleagues on the School’s stakeholder facing approaches.

Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
PARENT RELATIONS:
• create a warm responsive interaction between the School and the parents
• ensure that an excellent level of service is provided to parents at all times
• be available at all times for current or prospective parents with general enquiries
• help to manage problems or complaints efficiently and effectively
• direct all received communication to relevant school personnel as necessary
• receive and process such requests as authorisation of absence
• keep accurate records
• work as a support/translator during individual parent and teacher meetings to ensure clarity of communication
• ensure school procedures comply with the most current regulations/legislation
• providing translation of documents for appropriate school staff
• organise parent workshops, information and feedback sessions
• take responsibility for regular school surveys for parents
• organise parent/community clubs and support all events at which parents will be in attendance

COMMUNICATIONS:
• manage school internal and parent facing communications
• maintain up to date records of parent contact details in line with GDPR regulations
• develop protocols and house style for parent communications via letter, email etc. in both English and Slovak to ensure that parents receive clear information and to advance and drive their engagement.
• manage the distribution of key information around school – policies, official school documents, key information boards, contacts etc.
• manage the development and publication of key outputs such as monthly newsletters
• maintain recorded regular contact with all CIS families and be proactive in seeking feedback and offering opportunities for communication

The postholder will need:

  • strong and engaging people skills
  • experience working in a Customer Service role (Client Relationship Building)
  • experience of international education as an employee or stakeholder is highly desirable
  • strong professional communication and presentation skills including excellent written and verbal communication both in English and Slovak;
