Job description, responsibilities and duties


As a logistics coordinator, you will be responsible for establishing and managing all aspects of the logistics process, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring the transportation of goods. You will work closely with various internal departments, external suppliers, and transportation providers to ensure the timely delivery of products and materials while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.


  • Set up logistics processes in an environment of a new production plant
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation providers, freight forwarders, and other vendors to optimize costs.
  • Monitor and track shipments throughout the transportation process to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
  • Manage inventory levels and warehouse space to optimize storage capacity and minimize holding costs.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, such as shipping records, bills of lading, and customs paperwork, in compliance with regulations.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders, such as sales, purchasing, and customer service teams, to coordinate logistics activities and address any concerns or requirements.
  • Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as safety regulations and import/export requirements.
  • Provide support and assistance to other departments as needed to facilitate the smooth flow of goods and materials through the supply chain.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to continuously improve logistics processes and stay competitive.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Educational Specialization

Degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Language skills

Slovak - Advanced (C1) and English - Advanced (C1)

Other knowledge

Transportation Management System (TMS) - Advanced
Warehouse management - Advanced

Experience in the position/sector

  • Experience in setting up logistics processes
  • Previous experience in logistics coordination, transportation management, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping requirements.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions to optimize logistics processes.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
