Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • Creates and maintains a purchasing organisation fit for the future
  • Leads and develops the purchasing direct and indirect material department and coaches his team
  • Responsible for Purchasing organization development within company structure
  • Creates and implements procurement procedures and systems aligned with the Hoval group
  • Develops and executes supplier strategies for the relevant commodity groups
  • Leads supply risk management, escalates bottlenecks early and leads task forces to avoid supply gap situations
  • Closely cooperates with other departments, mainly engineering and production, in providing market analysis, new trends and products' innovation proposals
  • Manages supplier evaluation, to create long lasting partnerships with mutual benefit
  • Analyses market commodities and reports to the extended organization
  • Performs benchmarking and tenders of miscellaneous indirect commodities and services with aim to cost reduction
  • Proactively leads group-wide sourcing initiatives to improve the supply organization

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) or German - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

SAP ERP - Advanced
Microsoft Office - Advanced

Driving licence

  • Excellent management and leadership qualities
  • Strategic long-term view
  • Strong ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of production processes advantageous
  • Fluent knowledge of English language, German is a big advantage
  • University education, technical orientation preferred
