Job description, responsibilities and duties
- Main purpose of this function is to ensure site installation of internal system and physical data collection box
- As part of the team in charge of installing, operating, developing system and other related applications or databases on EFW plants worldwide, your task will more specifically to :
- install of single-node Apache Kafka clusters on physical hardware
- setup and configure the Linux servers including OS install, security/firewall and communications to external services
- test and deploy the internal software on physical hardware
- optimize the installation process in order to make it more efficient
- ensure the physical deployment of hardware on sites around the world, as well as first levels of maintenance
- ensure the communication and training in the use of the application
- feed the continuous improvement process of the application with the goal to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction

Personality requirements and skills
- Degree in Computer Sciences / software engineering with 5+ years of experience as Software developer, Systems or Data Engineer
- Specific IT knowlegde and solid experience with the following softwares or platforms :
- Apache Kafka
- Docker
- Java 11
- Python
- CantOS
- Sound understanding of computer networking
- Knowledge of sensor / IOT protocols e.g. MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA
- Valuable IT experience in the operating system and network environment, for an industrial operator
- Ideally additional qualification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical engineering (technical university)
- Good knowledge of project management and working with different project disciplines, multiple locations and cultures
- Based on experience, can identify possible solutions, adapt to the situation and implement
- Shows a lot of initiative and can work independently. High flexibility
- Interest in process, product knowledge and technical understanding of the operations of EFW or Power plants
- Didactic skills (training + support for internal and external stakeholders)
- No restriction on regular traveling to plant sites around the world
- Languages: English (spoken + written). German and other languages a plus
