Job description, responsibilities and duties

POSITION SUMMARY:
Plant HR position is responsible for leading a broad range of HR activities, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, leadership development, engagement, compensation, and employee programs. Understands manufacturing business strategy, and ensures alignment between HR activities and the strategic priorities of the role. Works with Site Leadership to develop and implement a local HR Strategy. Work with Employee Services and HR Center of Excellence to focus on transforming and standardizing critical HR processes and procedures on country level.

JOB DESCRIPTION/YOUR ROLE:

◄Employee Relations and Engagement:

• Establish strong partnerships with Site leadership and employees in support of developing the optimal culture to drive high performance, retention and engagement
• Develop and cultivate active, two-way communications with all levels of employees in all functions on all shifts.
• Conduct regular visits to Plant Operations areas during day and evening if necessary.
• Coach and develop to resolve all performance and other employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and partnering with Legal authorities.
• Provide confidential opportunities for employees to discuss their concerns. Advocate for employees when needed.
• Use judgment when issues require intervention/elevation to the next level of management.
• Coach employees and supervisors on appropriate responses and give advice on how to handle sensitive matters.
• Aid in the writing of formal disciplinary documents.

◄Recruitment:

• Lead recruitment efforts for designated population and partners with the team on recruiting efforts
• Work closely with appropriate contacts to develop recruitment processes and practices, in line with HR Strategy.
• Work with Compensation on appropriate packages.

◄Training & Development:

• Identify requirements for training and design and courses as necessary, in line with the HR Strategy.
• Use data, reporting and analysis to understand strengths and areas of opportunity for people practices, developing strategic and tactical programs as necessary. (I.e. employee engagement, reward and recognition, etc.)
• Partner with Plant leadership to drive ongoing Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives onsite

◄Performance and Development:

• Lead performance development, bonus processes for assigned employees ensuring training, communication on process and timelines and assisting with all phases of the year end process to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Support Talent Planning program.
• Identify and provide success planning opportunities, feedback and guidance to appropriate managers as it relates to the Company Performance Management process.

◄Process and Procedure:

• Keep current and well informed on external and internal HR best practices.
• Provide education and guidance to managers and employees on Company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and define new processes and procedures for the Site where necessary.

The position reports to: Plant Director (as direct) and Country HR Director (as dotted).

• Minimum 5 years prior experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Human Resources functional delivery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills with MS office, HRIS (SAP, Oracle or similar HR systems).
• Ability to handle matters of a highly confidential nature.
• Perceptive, understanding priorities, anticipating, detailed oriented, accurate and well organized.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills.
